KPV
Product Description
KPV is a synthetic tripeptide made up of three amino acids: lysine (K), proline (P), and valine (V). It has the molecular formula C16H30N4O4, a molecular weight of 342.43 g/mol for the free-carboxyl reference form, and CAS number 67727-97-3. KPV corresponds to positions 11-13 of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH), a 13-amino-acid neuropeptide produced in the pituitary gland. Its amino-acid sequence represents the C-terminal three residues of alpha-MSH. The free-acid KPV reference formula above should be distinguished from amidated or acetate forms. KPV is classified as a melanocortin-derived peptide fragment.
